It is not the real Saigon, but it is where the real Saigon goes when it needs air conditioning and a quiet street to walk on.

Brunch at a Thao Dien cafe costs 200,000 to 400,000 VND (7.90 to 15.70 USD) for a Western-style plate. Lunch is still local: banh xeo at Banh Xeo 46A, a chaotic alley in the centre serving the city's benchmark sizzling crepe.
